You play as Lily Harper, an 18-year-old girl who just graduated from high school. Her mom is away and her stepfather is at work, so she spends the day in her boring suburban neighborhood. Waking up to the summer sun, she feels bold, restless, and ready for some fun.

*Near To Ruin* is a story-driven visual novel for adults centered on temptation, emotional conflict, and gradual decay. The story follows a young couple arriving at what was supposed to be the perfect vacation spot. Although they hope the trip will strengthen their relationship, unexpected desires, strangers, and emotional tension gradually begin to test their loyalty. The player's choices determine the direction of the story. While a completely classic, unvarnished approach is also possible, the game explores the idea that not every desire is easily suppressed when temptation takes hold.
